About Me
Hello! My name is Melissa C. Arostegui. I am a designer, an artist, a thinker, a problem solver, and a self-motivated go-getter!
My life experiences have brought me to where I am today, embarking on a new path as an instructional designer. I started off by pursuing a bachelor degree in art and design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating, I became a freelance artist. I showed my art work regularly across the United States and even Mexico! While in Mexico, I put together my own art fair and passed out free art to residents in the town of Bucerias. During that time, I became interested in art therapy and decided to enroll in the counseling program at Concordia University. I have always enjoyed listening to others and offering solutions to problems. Although I enjoyed the program, I realized that I was more interested in pursuing a degree in education. Therefore, I changed programs and received a master's degree. During my time as an educator, I became passionate about technology. This led me down the path towards instructional design and online learning which brings together all my interests and past experiences in perfect unison.
In my spare time, I have been developing my skills in logo and icon design in Adobe Illustrator as well as creating art. I recently finished writing two children’s books and I am creating the illustrations for each. I am interested in world cultures, traveling, art, and working with people.
